Combine 3 categories into 1 in Quicken 2002?

I have read and re-read the instructions but nothing seems to work.

I have 1 category called AMEX

Another Credit card2 AMEX

Another Credit Card AMEX.

I want to roll up the latter 2 categories into AMEX. I have tried for the last 2 hours to accomplish that and have not succeeded yet.

Who can help?

Use Edit>Find & Replace>Recategorize. Enter your old category (ie, Credit card 2 AMEX, or select it from the drop down box). Then hit Find All. Enter your new category (ie, AMEX), and his Replace.

I tried that. When I enter then Category Credit Card 2 etc and say Find all -- it finds nothing!!!

Yet, when I open the category Credit Card 2 I find all kinds of entries there.

So, I have not been able to move them.

Sorry, it did work. I did not know that the information of Credit Crad 2 etc was all moved into AMEX. I thought it would then be empty. But I see that all the entries moved into AMEX and could now Delete the Credit Card 2 account.

Thanks for the information. I had never done this before but I am glad for your advice. Worked like a charm.
