Wachovia Software Changes - Implementing in Quicken

The Wachovia Bank just implemented hopefully improvements to their web site. It will require users of Quicken who download transactions from within Quicken to make several changes. The specifics are on the Wachovia / software web site. These appareantly must be made before you can download again.

Has anyone done these as yet? Any problems?

I haven't heard a word about this. Do you have a URL?

I have been struggling with this all day. Based on the "Quicken Personal Finance Software 2006 For Windows - Wachovia Bank BillPay Conversion Guide" that I dl'd from Wachovia, I did the following steps:

  1. Deleted all pending payments
  2. Deleted all repeating payments
  3. Deactivate a. Transaction Download b. Online Payment

  1. Back-up

  1. Select xWachovia as bank name
  2. Activate a. Transaction Download b. Online Payment
  3. Add back pending and repeating payments.

I can not get through step 6 which involves re-activating the transaction download and online payment. I keep getting a system error -

2000. When I call Wachovia, they tell me there are some system problems that they are workingon.

This procedure has to be run on or after 5/15 and but not later than

7/15. I would wait a few days (weeks) while Wachovia gets their system problems fixed.

I'll report back here when I successfully reactivate.

Seems to work fine for me. Just follow the instructions to deactivate accounts and then reactivate. Actually, I did an update today BEFORE I applied the changes and all my pending bill-pays were cancelled automtically. When I deactivated and activated the accounts, the new bill pay transactions downloaded fine.

Good luck to all.

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I do not plan on giving it a try until Sat., which would be the first time I have. Good luck in future; hopefully their tech support fixes their problems.

It turns out that I already had upgraded at some previous date. The problem I had was from converting from zWachovia to xWachovia. When I called this morning, they said I was already running the latest software and all I had to do was change xwachovia back to zwachovia. Once I did that, everything worked fine. You may want to call Wachovia at

800-654-1276 and ask them with or not you need to upgrade.

I'm stuck in the middle. I deactivated my accounts, changed from zWachovia to xWachovia. But when I activate them the process fails (OL-301-A).

What are you using for a Wachovia customer Id in Quicken? I was using my SSN but now they say to use the userId & password I use on the Wachovia web site.

That's exactly what happened to me with the same 301-A error. Wachovia told me to recover from the error to do the following with Q2006:

  1. Cash Flow > Select Account > Overview > Edit Account details
  2. Change xWachovia back to zWachovia
  3. Re-activate account (s)

I still use my SSN and associated password with Quicken which is not what I use to access the Wachovia web set.

I was able to connect to Wachovia today and download transactions to my checking account. I have received no notice from Wachovia for this change. Should I continue to pay bills and download info. as long as it continues to work?

Thanks,

The Wachovia Tech Support rep told me that not all customers have to do this upgrade. She couldn't explain why some folks must connect to zWachovia and others to xWachovia. But I restored my backup and everything seems to be working.

As long as it works. Before I deactivated, I deleted all of my Repeating transactions. Restoring my backup does not take care of the Repeating transactions because they have to be re-submitted to the bank after re-activation.

I just spoke to the online support. They claimed that download only users do not have to do anything - this is only about Bill Pay. But given the confusion, YMMV.

And apparently not all users of BillPay are affected.

I finally also called customer service and was told that I don't have to do anything - my downloads and billpay are working well.

Good deal. I think a lot of people are in that boat. It pays to check.

I'm strictly Qkn download - no BillPay - Chking, Saving and 6 CD's. I had to make the change over and (last night) it didn't complete cleanly (6 ok , 2 not). This AM I was able to complete all 8 accounts. Last night the CD's went okay (Wachovia to xWachovia) but the Chking and Savings kept getting the Error Reference Number 2000 [OL-301-A]. This AM the Chking and Savings worked - don't cha just love consistency. It would appear that the requirements are going to be mixed. My prior connect was "Wachovia Bank" - I didn't know anything about the "xWachovia" or "zWachovia". My connections are now all "xWachovia". Geo.

Is Wachovia emailing customers (in or out of Quicken) who need to make the change?

I don't recall a notice about this specific activity. I picked up on it in this thread and followed the url provided earlier in the thread. I did receive a USPS mail notice from Wachovia about the Intiut's retiring of Q2003 (which applied to me and I've moved to '06). As I recall there were a couple of notices on the Wachovia site about the Q2003 situation but I don't remember anything about this issue with Wachovia itself.
