Looking for a useful Tax Summary report

I think the original poster made the report customization in his solution more difficult than necessary - an approach that also made it more difficult to utilize a Saved report for the purpose, since it's likely that a new set of securities would need to be selected for each tax year.

A Customization that unselects "retirement" accounts and selects only the three categories of interest (_DivInc; _LT CapGnDst, _ST CapGnDst), should achieve the desired results with less "selecting".

And Saving that report will allow it to be re-used with no Customization modifications, whenever the results desired are for the Year-to-date - and to only have to change that date range when the desired results are for a different period.

[For the specific purpose of the above discussion (at least); I think it would be a good thing, if Quicken allowed the Investment Income report to also be subtotaled on Category. There are only going to be three categories in this specific report, but the possibility exists to have many more securities than that. Three columns and an unknown number of rows is preferable to three rows and an unknown number of columns.]
