Downloading Cost?

Hello,

I manually download accounts every couple of months and then import the data into Quicken.

Are there fees for automatically downloading? How does that work?

Thanks,

Bob

That's at the discretion of each financial institution; ask them.

Thanks John.

Darn. It doesn't look like any freebees for auto downloading.

I think that for most institutions there is no fee for downloading transactions into Quicken. I have downloaded from credit unions, banks, brokerage companies, and credit cards and never encountered, nor even heard of, any fees for downloading. I download transactions from all of the accounts that we currently have at least once a week, and reconcile against the online balance each month or each quarter, whenever the institution issues an account statement.

Hi Bernie,

But do you have Quicken "automatically" download? I do it manually with no charge but was thinking of the convenience of the automatic download.

Thanks,

Bob

I'm not sure what you mean by "automatically". I simply click the "Update" icon in Quicken, enter my passwords for the accounts, and Quicken does the rest automatically. (You can use Quickens password vault and not even have to enter the passwords, but I choose to enter them myself.)

The only account where I have to something more "manually" than that is ING because their security procedures don't permit Quicken to login automatically.
