Downloading Credit Card Statements

I have a credit card account with a bank. I had been downloading the credit card statements into my Quicken credit card account. Due to a problem, I had them cancel my previous credit card and issue a new one. I edited my Quicken account to show the new credit card number. Now when I try to download the credit card statement, Quicken does not show the credit card account into which I want to download it.

I have so many transactions each month that I would hate to go back to manually entering them. Can anyone help

You left out some information that could be useful: for starters, Quicken version, and download method.

Deactivate the credit card account for downloading. If the normal download method is "Direct Connect", re-activate the account for downloading.

Then try another download.

Thanks for the reply. I am using Quicken 2006 Deluxe. My download method is to click on the monthly statement and then to download it using the Quicken selection. I then accept the download into the credit card screen. I don't know how to" Deactivate" the credit card account for downloading, nor what you mean by "Direct Connect" or how I would "Reactivate."

If you logon to your fi's web site to initiate a download, then you are using Web Connect to download.

To Deactivate the Quicken account for downloading, open the account to the Overview tab, click on "Change Online Services", then click Deactivate. Since you're using Web Connect to download, you do not need to re-Activate the account.

[If you needed to reactivate the account for downloading - as you would if you were using Direct Connect to downloae, you would use the same "Change Online Services" dialog to do it.]

Please let me clarify: My method of accessing the credit card company which is also my bank is to click on the bank website, either via clicking on Update Now in Quicken or by going directly to the bank website. In either case I am clicking on the same URL. Just to make sure that you understand my problem: I simply changed the number on the credit card account in Quicken, i.e., it is the same account with a different number.
