Charges for downloading credit card statements?

Chase just changed their online payment site and when first logging in the terms of services says that they charge for downloading info into money management tools like Quicken. But the pages showing where to download reports doesn't mention the charge. I don't use Quicken but was considering buying it for managing my payments and statements to several services. Is it common for companies to charge fees to download statements into Quicken and make payments through Quicken?

Thanks.

I have a Chase VISA and do direct downloads for free. I use my Citibank MC (also free direct download) much more, and both offer cash rewards of

5% on pharmacy, grocery and gas purchases, 1% on everything else. The day one fi starts charging for direct downloads, is the day I give up that card and simply use the other.

Margaret

By direct download, do you mean going to their website to click on a download button or is direct download when Quicken downloads the file directly from the company? Sorry about the beginner question!

Thanks.

Not since 2002. Many CC and banks offer statements and billpay like processes for FREE. Why? because its cheaper than snail mailing and having person traige checks by hand.

Don't settle for those who charge.

I know many Citibank and MBNA cards are free.

Banks vary by state.

No, I mean activating downloading transactions directly into the corresponding Quicken account by using One-Step Update. All my most active accounts offer this service for free, and it's wonderful.

This is the Terms for my Chase card. They don't charge for Quicken downloads if you ONLY have credit cards. If you have a bank account also, I believe they charge in that case.

I do also mention when they shut down the Bank One site, I had to go online and reenable the accounts. The terms came up then.
