Execute Quicken off the net?

I travel a lot, and use a company laptop that is locked and I cannot install any software. Remote PC access like PC-Anywhere won't work because I can't install the remote agent on my laptop. I'd like to keep my quicken data files with me, and execute quicken off an internet application server. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

No, and I'm not sure you'd want to....

But you could look into something like

They have a free service where you can access your home computer through any web browser. I use it for remote family computer support and it works very well...

This looks very much like GotomyPC. I had that for a while and used a VA computer to access my home PC. It did require something to be installed on the VA machine each time. It worked for a long time . Then I lost interest because I could achieve the same results without paying for gotomyPC (I got high speed access at work through another machine and network in this particular VA hospital).

You would need to know whether the Java required for logmein is available on your company machine, or take a pocketPC PDA with you.

Yes, it is similar to other services, but LogMeIn has a personal use plan that doesn't cost anything. There is a small Java applet that gets downloaded on the remote PC, but most companies don't block those.

I tried logmein, and it seems to work great. No problems with my home firewall, dynamic IP addresses, it seems pretty good! Just a tad slower than keyboard speed, so I'd have to pace my data entry a bit. But this will work, thanks!

Good. Love it when a plan comes together...
