Future account balance range in Q2011 premier

I upgraded to q2011 premier from q2010 premier yesterday and this new version appears to have removed one option i found very useful in previous quicken versions.

In Account Overview in banking accounts, for example, one could Customize to any date interval, including in the future. This has been removed, and a similar graph can now be viewed under Tools/Bill and Income Reminders (CTRL-J).

However, that bar chart will show only one month at a time. One can choose forward arrow for looking at future months, but I could not figure out how to show more than one month at a time.

Has anyone been able to show an arbitrary future data range in the bar chart, as was possible in past versions of Quicken?

Maybe I'm not understanding the question, but on the Q2011 Account Overview display, Account Balance graph; I am able to choose from the same date range options that I can in Q2008 ... including "Custom dates".

What release of Q2011 are you running? The most current is R7, but I'm using R5 at the moment. My memory is a bit hazy on this, but I think there were some customization issues with the early releases of Q2011. It's even possible that the Account Balance graph may have been omitted altogether in the earliest releases.

There is also a new display available in Q2011 for looking at future balances: on the Bills tab is a button called "Projected Balances, where you can look at the balances of one or more accounts, in the future.

Thank you for your answer, John. I am running QWin2011 R7.

That's right, but the balance is shown for each month in the future date range. In fact, the balance is the same number in each month, i,e. it doesn't take into account the scheduled deposits and debits. That seems a little odd. Aside from 'Custom Dates' there are unfamiliar choices such as "Daily" which just shows a single bar with today's balance. There doesn't seem to be a way to show daily balances for coming months. Maybe a work in progress?

I think you are right about this. I saw some entries in this list about it.

Yes, this is perfect. It does exactly what I wanted. I have apparently learned to consult this news server before trying the quicken online chat, which yesterday did not give me this tip. In case someone else has such a question, I also found this:

Thanks again, Jim
