future dated security prices 2038 issue (Q17 R6)

Anyone have any thoughts or insights on the recurring headache of Quicken downloading stock prices with a future date of 1/18/2038. It's been an issue for years, and it's still an issue in Q17.

Quicken continues to obtain the price quotes from a third party service so bad quotes are not indicative of an issue in the Quicken software itself. The good news has been that these occasional bad quotes appear to consisten tly land on 1/18/2038 so it is has always been relatively easy to detect an d correct this form of bad data.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I've read other complaints that suggest it's a third party issue. My personal Quicken file goes back to 1993 and I 've had the bad quote issue since at least Q2010, if not earlier. On the ot her hand, I've been tracking my family's investments on a separate file tha t dates from 1999; this file has always been modified exclusively via One S tep Update (no manual transactions, except a tweak now and then when there' s a spinoff or a name change). Oddly the bad date problem does not show up in that file. For example, JPM in the family file is fine, but in my person al file JPM consistently shows the bad date. Yes, it is a simple fix, but there are a lot of securities to correct, and its a bummer when the corrected data gets corrupted again and again. (But at least I don't have placeholder issues, which I find intolerable .)
