I searched my registers for an amount - $5.00. Quicken returned $75.00, $3645.00, $225.00, $25.00 and $5.00. I don't recall the Find working like this before - am I mistaken?
Quicken 2006 Rel 4.
Thanks Mike

In Q2005 R3, when trying to Find "5.00" (in addition to finding the same amounts you note), Find even finds transactions where the only "5" is in one or more split lines ... and is to the right of the decimal! (As in $123.05.) I can't imagine that is really what I would be looking for if I tried to Find "5.00".
But I suspect the real culprit is the "Match if" clause you used. The results above were gotten using "Contains" as the "Match if" phrase. I tried the Find with "Match if" set to "Exact" and got the results I expected; transactions whose exact amount was $5.00 (though split lines were found, as well as net transaction amounts).
Duh! What would we do without you John? Thanks
