I am running quicken 2006 premier. After the v 4 update My downloads from my brokers contain many old transactions. If many the program doesnot call a match. If i accept them the I have 50 transaction which are really duplicates. If i delete them I takes a long time and then they are redownloaded on the next download.
Are you saying that you have multiple accounts downloading the same transactions every time you download? Is it multiple investment accounts that have the problem, but none of your non-investment accounts exhibit the problem? If it is one account only, I might suspect the financial institution.
I think it is possible to do a "manual match" with investment transactions; if so, I would certainly try that with at least one transaction to determine if that will prevent future downloads of duplicates.
I don't recall anyone having the problem you mention, or of R4 being guilty, but you can check to see whether R4 is involved by uninstalling, reinstalling, and doing a manual update to R3 ... then doing another download.

If R4 seems to be the problem, and you can't workaround it any other way (by "matching" the downloaded transactions, for example); you could consider staying with R3. If you don't need any of the following "fixes" provided in R4, just run with R3.

Things are settleing down. The downloads seemed ok today no new transaction. I did loose one pin vault entry but seems to be ok now. I ran the data on my version 1 win98 machine and my ver4 laptop. All seems ok. My gut is a little corruption issue in doing backups or in doing the update. Thanks, a little handholding helps. Larry
