I have a business visa account that has separate cards and each has its own account number. These are reported on the statement separately under one main account. I can track activity for each card and pay one bill for all the cards on one statement.
The problem came up when I activated the direct connect for the account. I had to set up five accounts - one master and 4 individual accounts. I tried to name one quicken account for all the individual accounts and QD07 said I could not do that. It wanted individual accounts.
When I download activity, I get one charge to the individual account and the same one to the master account.
Reporting is not a problem - I just filter out the duplicate account.
The problem is reviewing the downloaded transactions twice for proper category and memos, which I use.
This is a new card, and my first payment is not due. I can also see a problem of paying the balance and having balances due on the duplicate accounts.
I was thinking of deleting the master account and just living with the individual accounts, but I like seeing everything in one as well as the individual accounts.
Any suggestions on working with a master account with individual sub accounts?
