so you cut and pasted, not copied and pasted?

It updated to 27.1.28.16 this morning, and I just tried it again. Same result--it doesn't do it here.

Apparently that's what he did. As so often is the case with technical questions, getting the terminology correct is *very* important.

And of course it's not a bug.

but if software wasn't so buggy so often, people wouldn't jump to that conclusion.

/off-topic comment on. Unfortunately, we have to live with that fact that some software can never be completely tested for 100% accuracy. OF course, some is tested better than others. For example, and I realize that the comment might not have been directed to Q in particular, Quicken is a relatively complex application, and it's just impossible (there's a good PhD thesis here) to completely test large, complex software applications to ensure

100% correctness under all circumstances, including every boundary condition thrown at it. /off-topic comment off.

How buggy is "so buggy"?

What is your frame of reference to conclude that your "so buggy" software is "too buggy"?

Hint 1: there is no such thing as bug-free software. Hint 2: most users have no idea what is involved in writing software, and too many users don't care.

Jumping to conclusions is virtually never warranted, and almost never beneficial. That's not how problems get solved.

Right!

Right!

solved.

Right! Well-said.

No, I copied and pasted. And was able to duplicate the same issue over and over. I've worked in IT for close to 30 years. I know the difference between copy and paste and cut and paste :)

Plus, if I did cut and paste, I wouldn't have the ORIGINAL and a new entry, right?

With copy and paste, I get a new entry, and the old entry has the date modified.

I have never experienced what you say is happening for you. Call Rod Serling!

I'm able to reproduce the issue. A work around is to save the pasted transaction before modifying the split (aka paycheck).

This does not happen for me. Using Q H&B 2016.

Good to find the work around. Bad that it is needed at all.

The proper sequence is to copy and paste and then modify the copy so its amount with split desired, and date matches the incoming transaction and enter it AND THEN the incoming trans will MATCH the downloaded one to be accepted as usual.
