I want the bank's tranx date to be used

I'm a recent convert from Money and am using Quicken 2006 Deluxe. When I accept downloaded transactions from my financial institutions that have matched entries that are already found in my register, the dates I previously entered for the transactions remain, instead of the transaction down that was downloaded from the bank. Lately, I've been just remembering the dates in my head and then changing them after I've completed the matching/acceptance process, but there's got to be a way to tell Quicken to just overrided the date I've entered with whatever the bank shows. Can anyone tell me what option I need to change to make Quicken use the downloaded transaction date instead? Thanks.

There is no such option.

Although there is no such option, you can go to each transaction, left click on "edit" (on the left side of the register below each transaction) hold down ctrl & left click on "copy transaction." This will give you the posting date. I have found this very useful.

Well, I'm dissappointed then. So far there are several features I was accustomed to in Money that are not found in Quicken (and I've yet to discover the features in Quicken that don't exist in Money). Mainly, I like the overwrite feature for downloaded dates. Also, another feature Money offers is scheduled online transfers between accounts at the same bank. I like to have a specified amount transfer from my checking to my savings following each paycheck deposit. With Money, I had it set up and it would automatically transmit to my bank on the date I had the transfer scheduled. With Quicken the best I get is a Reminder to enter the transaction, which I can then enter as an Oxfr.

I hope that I start to find features in Quicken that don't exist in Money, otherwise I'm starting to feel sort of cheated. I always assumed that since Quicken has more users, that is was more feature-rich.
