Went through the upgrade process for Premier 2008 for Windows. (Did change the default installation location to Quicken\08 from the regular Quicken folder.) It successfully converted the file, and all balances appear to be correct.
All my online payees are gone. What to do?

I was able to get most of the payees back, by clicking on my principal FI, update, and it downloaded all the payees from their database. Repeated for all online FI's, it updated all transactions (most were matches) and came out 102.00 richer. I'll take it to the bank.
