"Link to an online bill"? What is this about?

One of the items that is new, I believe, in Q2016 is the ability to link a recurring payment to an 'online bill'. A new box in the "Bill Reminders" page has this option now.

I do not use Quicken BillPay, but do use Internet Banking at my FI. I don't receive any form of 'online bills' that I can recall....so I wonder if this is something that one needs to sign up for from either Q or your billing accounts or whatever.

Can someone explain what this 'linking' process is all about, and is it just for those using Quicken Billpay, or would it perhaps be on interest for generic internet banking (I do d/l my transactions that ultimately get matched in my checkbook register from the f/i if this is germane.)

I am hoping it might be a super-duper reminder facility I might use, or perhaps an easier way to manage payments.

Jeff - thanks for the quick reply, but I don't see anything on these panels (nor any linked from them) about the ONLINE BILL facility that is NEW in Q2016 (I believe). I've used the BILLS AND REMINDERS tab for years; it is the NEW facility within that I am curious about as mentioned.

Or maybe I just missed it somewhere in the panels? I did try looking through the Q HELP before I posted.

Here is a post that was in QLC.

It should give an idea on what is going on with it.

Oy! Thanks for that! I think I'm staying clear away from this until it graduates out of single A baseball.
