Online Banking with QB 2007

Hi

I am entering banking transactions in quickbooks for a client. Right now everything is done manually from the statement. We want to use online banking and download the transactions right into quickbooks.

My client banks with HSBC and has already subscribed to their internet banking service called BIBS. Does he have to apply seperately with HSBC for downloading transactions into QB or will the same internet banking account do ?

Has anyone done this with HSBC before ?

My experience has been with Wachovia only, and they do require a subscription to allow downloads and bill paying capability - and at a monthly charge of course($14.95). I researched other banks in my area and it was pretty much the same story give or take a couple of bucks (it ranged fr $9.95/m to $21.95/m). In all cases you have to apply for Quickbooks access to any/all accounts. It appears that free downloads are only available to consumer accounts these days.

Thanks for the help. We figured out a way. For the time being we are downloading the transactions using webconnect (.qbo) files. This is not costing us anything except whatever the charges are for regular internet banking. I dont know if there is a downside though.
