Can't enable Online Account Access

I recently created a QB (06 A&B edition) company file that I had been tracking in QuickenXG05 for this , and in Simply before that. (Quicken was great, except for certain reporting limitations.)

I did this by bringing in Dec/04 balances from Simply, and then manually entered 2005 activity from Quicken. I am now up-to-date, but cannot get a QuickStatement for the bank account. I think it's because under account details, the Financial Institution info section is blank *and* greyed-out, so that I can't enter anything. And when I click "Enable", and I try to go to "online services", it asks me if I want to set up. I click "yes" and get the interview window which only gives me 2 choices: "Prev", and "Leave". (The "Next" button is greyed out.)

"Prev" tells me to apply with my FI. I already have online access with my bank (which I have been using successfully with Quicken), so I think this is moot.

My only other choice is "Leave", which tells me I've not completed the procedure!

Today I decided to try downloading transactions while Quickbooks was open (my session history says I successfuly exported account activity to Intuit Quickbooks). I have tried importing the Web Connect file, but can't find it on my computer.

I'm going in circles, and am stumped as to how to get any further. Anyone have any ideas???

Thanks!

Unless Quickbooks has changed their download type again the download type for Quickbooks is different from the one that works with Quicken. You need WebConnect for Quickbooks (at least that's what works with 2005).

For whatever reason I always ran into problems when trying to setup online access from inside of Quickbooks. One of the banks two of my clients use offers WebConnect for Quickbooks. I downloaded the info from inside my browser, saved it to disk, then chose File > Import from inside of Quickbooks. Once I did this in each file it seemed to grab the online banking info and now it works from inside of QB.

Tara,

Well, I tried it again, but this time at the detailed account activity level (not the list of accounts level, where I used to do the download from), and did save it to disk. Import worked beautifully.

Thanks for your help! vcard
