List of Improvements for Q2006

Getting a web site together and consolidating the list of over 121 improvements in a way that will make sense to you, our customer, is unfortunately taking time. Preparing the content and the process we go through to update our web site, to be honest, is slow. I can tell you that there is a great team of people working really hard and making this happen as fast as possible.

We're doing this because we are glad you have called on us for the specifics. Until now all the enhancements have been tracked in product design documents, issue tracking databases and in the heads of a lot of out most creative team members. The few people who are demanding this comprehensive list on our forums are paving the way for others in the next several months (and teaching us how to better inform you in the future).

We plan on having the whole list up on the Sept. 19th. Here is a sneak preview of some of the items...

  1. Quicken 2006 automatically uninstalls prior versions of Quicken during installation

  1. Mileage rates are now always updated automatically

  2. Added option to automatically enter numbers with decimals into registers

  1. Added 12-month trend graphs within category and payee spending reports

  2. New model portfolios for asset allocation

113. Improved performance of Quicken start-up

I find it amusing that this wasn't done *before* the latest release.

At least give them credit for providing the information which so many users have requested. Don't bash them! If you are a fan of QIF then quit your whining as well.

"I find it amusing" is a far cry from bashing or whining.

You're scaring me a little... Are you following me?

(For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, that's OK... As long as Dave does.)

Naw... Pure cooincidence. I have been using Quicken for a *very* long time. I still use Quicken 8 for DOS Release 7 along with Quicken 2003.

It just seems we have similar interests ;-)

Nothing exciting from Intuit for 2006. I may go back to sleep another year. Yawn.

Yeah, it makes you wonder. Like, how can they decide when the product is (reasonably) free of bugs? Or how to train the support people. Or, how to write the data sheet or the stuff on the outside of the box.

Little things like that.

Makes you wonder.
