Lost Sound when upgrading from 2008 to 2010

When I installed 2010 I lost all the Quicken sounds. I had 2008 installed when I installed 2010. Any help appreciated.

First off - assuming your speaker isn't muted, have you checked your Quicken preferences? Edit / Preferences / Quicken Preferences / Setup: Turn On Quicken Sounds.

Yes. Speakers are not muted as I have sound in other programs. Turn on Quicken sounds is selected.

Then the next step is to check your OS sound settings. Assuming you are using Windows, it's in the Control Panel.

If that doesn't work, you can Google a registry patch ("missing quicken sounds") that will restore the sound entires to your registry.

Hi, Phil.

One More Time! :^{

This question gets asked - again - at least once a year it seems, ever since Windows 2000. You didn't mention which Windows version you are using, so I'm assuming Windows 7. But, as it says at the top of the attached file, it should work with any recent version of Quicken and of Windows. I'm sure Intuit could easily fix this problem - if they cared. :>(
