New QD 2017 Update This Morning

Quicken 2017 R11 / R12 / R13 Release Notes (Critical Release) Sep 2017 This is a required update. Failure to install this update and setup your Quicken ID will result in a loss of connected services. You can now sign in with your Quicken ID. As part of our separation from Intuit you will switch from using your existing Intuit ID to using a new, Quicken ID. When you install this update you will be prompted to setup a new Quicken ID. Your new Quicken ID will be used to sign in to Quicken going forward. You may still use your Intuit ID for other Intuit products. Vault Password Change Due to our switch to a Quicken ID, we have removed the ability to protect your Password Vault with an Intuit Password. You may be required to set a new Password Vault password after installing this update. (If you already used a custom Vault password no action will be required.) Mobile Sync Updates We have replaced Intuit's Cloud Sync Service with a new Quicken Cloud Sync service. After you install this update, you will need to re-sync all your accounts. You will also have to re-upload documents using a new Document Upload Tool if you wish to see the transaction attachments on mobile. Third-party Tool Updates Fixed: Due to this change to Quicken Cloud service you will have to re-register for some features if you have used these features previously: Investing.quicken.com, Life Yield Tax Optimizer, Portfolio X-Ray. Important Notice for Quicken Online Backup customers The Quicken Online Backup service will be phased out at the end of 2017. In preparing for this shutdown the Quicken Online Backup options on the Backup window (Ctrl +B) have been removed. However, you may still continue using the service and backing up your Quicken files using the separate, Quicken Online Backup utility application through December 31, 2017. Upgraded to R24 this morning. Now find that the small notification box next to the stock name now longer works. Used to have news about the stock such as div payment, mergers and such. Now have the box but no news. What went wrong? R. Wink

Wow...I have QD 2017 as well and I am only on maintenance level R10. But I didn't get a offered upgrade this AM, so we'll see.

I got the notice to upgrade today and it was very easy. However, my news box also shows and has no news.

Just got offered the update. But it won't install.

I keep getting a pop-up error saying that qw.exe is in use by system.exe. It offers to close system.exe for me, but that just sits and waits and waits and waits...

I solved the problem by going to the quicken site and downloading manually the 650MB mondo update.

That installed without a problem.

So, if I refuse the update I'll lose access to web features? Fine with me as I only use Quicken 2015 H&B R13 locally, which is all I want these days. If I knew how to turn off Quicken's checking home with the mother ship, I'd do it. I've had issues in the past with updates. Things appear stable today. I've 20 years in the registry and often search detail. *_All I want is to know the program will continue to function without the update_*....I upgrade every 5 years or so...

You should be able to block the connections using the Windows firewall or your router.
