Paycheck setup and use

Apr 30, 2006 1 Replies

Hi Folks, I just setup my paycheck in QuickenDeluxe 2005. How do I actually enter that information into my checking account register. I set it up with my most recent paycheck dated 4/28/2006. I have direct deposit every 2 weeks. I told it that the start date was 4/28/2006. When I go to the checkbook register and choose the payee list, it does not show up. I'm getting tired of entering my gross and 18 other deductions!

Also, my paycheck usually varies from one to the next. Will I be able to change the deductions each time. As long as I have the basic categories listed and the amounts for the fixed expenses (insurance deductions) it would help a lot!

Also, the setup asked me how long in advance I would like to be notified. I DO NOT want to be notified in advance AT ALL . ( This is one "FEATURE" that REALLY irritates me!) . I usually enter my paycheck on Sunday mornings when I pay bills. I found out how to have the advance notice for bills to be turned off. Will I be able to do that with my check?

Thanks! Greg

Look for the 'Scheduled Transactions Due' tab at the bottom of the transactions register view. It should appear there - waiting for you to take action. See below for another option in this regard.

Yes, once the transaction is entered in the register you can doble-click the category field and the from pops-up for editing.

One of your choices is to automatically enter the transaction in the register - you can select this option and 0 days in advance and the check will be entered on payday. Any problem with this choice?
