Quicken 2005 (Windows) is driving me crazy with the way it handles placeholder transactions. I made two different purchases of ABC stock, the first for 200 shares, the second for 100 shares. For some reason, on the download placeholder has treated them as if they are two different companies (it calls one ABC and the other ABC, Inc.). I have attempted to rename the companies as one, tried to delete them and put them in manually, all to no avail. The next time I download from the investment account homepage, it appears as two different companies and the placeholder transaction appears. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hope you get an answer that works. I'm having similar problems in which Q2004 cannot distinguish between two entries for the very same stock. For some reasom you can't edit some transactions.
