Problems with 2005 Release 3

Mar 12, 2005 10 Replies

I am going through some issues with release three. Whenever I upgrade from release 2 to 3, I experience the same problems over and over again. With release 3, One Step Update locks up my workstation usually about 70 seconds. I have examined my performance monitor and the CPU cycles are up to 100%. The same thing happens upon the actual download. Also some of my bill pay accounts tell me now that it is too late to send the bill and the next date is 10/11/2265.

Has anyone else experienced these problems with release 3? I can uninstall the product and reload with the CD and run fine, so it has to be release three. I have also tried archiving my data file to last year, but this has not corrected any problems. I really would like to upgrade, but this is very frustrating.

Help!!!

I've not experienced any of the things you mentioned. I run quicken on Windows 98, XP Home and XP pro. So far no issues with release 3 of

2005.

Sorry for topposting, but my experience is the same as Don's. Han (sig below)

Many people frown on it, and I don't like to do it, but exceptions confirm the rule.

I think it is more important to delete portions that do not apply, and make clear whom you are replying to.

YMMV

I prefer top posting. It saves scrolling down to the bottom of the message. Top posting rocks!

thread. a follow to harder it make does it But,

Oh, God help us... You've now turned this into "The Thread That Wouldn't Die!!"... ;-)

This is a controversy that simply will not die. There are "top posting" fanatics and "bottom posting" fanatics. I think they will come to an agreement 2 days after the world comes to an agreement on abortion, the death penalty and gun control....

The best strategy I've heard is to try and continue the method used by the first reply. If they use bottom posting, try and use the same. It only makes reading a problem if posters switch between the two.

I'm basically a top poster, because having read the earlier messages, I don't want to wade through them again to get way down to the bottom and read the new contribution. OTOH, when I can trim all but a bit of the message to which I'm responding, I bottom post.

All of this would matter less to the pathetic people to whom it matters so much if we would all please cease re-quoting everything that has previously been written every time we reply.

Doug

That's another valid point (minus, of course, the reference to "pathetic people"...)

. Just about everyone I know will agree that editing a post to just the part that is relevant is considered good "netiquette".....

Gininews - Just read your note and I too find R3 unusable due to OneStep Update crashing the app. All goes away when I go back to R2. It looks like this thread has been hijacked so I'll try searching for an answer here first before starting anew.
