FULL SPECS BELOW
I am installing Q 2008 on a new computer and am having a problem. It seems to install fine. During the last part of the setup one of the screens asks if you want to open an existing Q file (which I do), Start a new one, or restore from a backup. It will do any of those options fine but... next time you start Q it forgets where the data was and goes back to that same setup screen asking how you want to set it up. Data can be located in the default Q directory, on the desktop, or even home on a home network, the results are all the same. It does the same thing wether Q is started from it's own icon or double clicking the data file. After restart Q 2008 does reflect the correct location of the previous data file at the end of the File menu, it just doesn't bring it up. At the times I elected to load an existing file they were cutted & pasted. Does this make any difference? I misplaced my original CD & Q support downloaded the program install file to my desktop and I installed from there. How can I get Q to remember the file it's working with?
Thanks for your help and understanding... Bob (let me know if you need any more specs)
