Q2004 - "Could not record transfer"

I have a loan account and sometimes (not always) when I try to split my checking account payment into the loan and interest accounts I get a "Could not record transfer" error. when I right click on that transaction and try to "Go to transfer" I get an error message that the transfer account does not exist.

I just found a work around that seems pretty reliable. I do the split into two expense accounts and record the transaction which is accepted. Then I go back and edit the split transaction for the loan and interest accounts and when I do this edit the transfer is accepted. I hope this works for anyone having the same problem!

David, I actually found a different workaround. I created a transfer of 1 penny at a future date (2012) from a cash account into the affected loan account. Evers since, all my transfers worked perfectly! And the penny at a future date does not throw off my current calculations.
