Q2009D Column Widths with Vista HP SP1

If the column names in the report are separated by column markers (two parallel lines), you can adjust the column width. (Not all reports are adjustable.)

Click the column marker to the right of the column heading and drag the marker to the right to widen a column. What happens to the other columns? The widths of all other columns in the report remain the same. Click the column marker to the right of the column heading and drag the marker to the left to make a column narrower. What happens to the other columns? The widths of all other columns in the report remain the same. Click the marker to the right of the column's heading and drag the marker to the left, past its left column marker, to remove a column.

When I try that, a vertical line appears, jumps around like a whirling banshee, compresses column widths, and the @$%&#@ mess cannot be fixed.

Any ideas? (I recall there were similar problems in previous versions with other MS operating systems.)

Thanks!

A new user in the Quicken Community Forums came up with the solution:

"Right click on icon, click compatability tab under properties, check disable display scaling on high DPI settings." (NOTE: he means the icon that opens Quicken.)

The fix works on both the investment register and reports. Amazed no one from Intuit has ever noticed, documented, or fixed this, since many of us old goats always set up our computers with increased Windows dpi settings.
