Quicken 2008 Windows 7 Unable to Verify The Active Printer At System Level

I used PCMOVER to move Quicken from XP to Window 7 on a new machine. The applications runs fine (except for printing). I have two printers installed which run fine with all other applications.

The message is received when I try to run printer setup. You then choose to setup a printer for either reports or checks. I had reports working, but checks was broken. On the reports selection, you would get a list of printers from my old machine, e.g. a LaserJet 4 on LPT1. The new computer does not even have a parallel report. Once an old printer was selected for reports, you get the same error for trying to setup printer for reports. You never get the old "wrong" list again, so I cannot change it back. Now they are both broken.

Other threads have suggested that there is a file with a name something like PTR.DAT and that if you delete or rename it, it would just get recreated. I have searched my hard disk for the various names, but have been unable to find them.

Does anyone know where the printer list hides and how to reset it and or make it regenerate with the current real printers?

Why bother with 'moving' the program? There are all sorts of settings that may be OS and system specific. You may be better off uninstalling and then reinstalling Quicken. Just know where your data files are, and have a backup or two.
