Quicken Closes

I use Quicken 2005 Deluxe R5 and Windows XP. This morning I updated Quicken as I normally do. There were transactions for my two Fidelity accounts. I was able to access and add the new transactions for the smaller IRA account, but I was not able to access my large Fidelity account. Each time I try, either Qucken closes or occasionally I get error code 7131. I have four other brokerage accounts which I update manually and there is no problem in opening those accounts. The only problem is with the large Fidelity account. How can I solve this problem? Thank you. Caryl

Since you mention an update, do we understand the problem just started after the update? Have you tried just updating one at a time? Could there be something in the larger download that might be causing problems.

You might try deactivating the problem account if it continues, then try re-activating it. The error code, if this is the right one, seems to point to a problem with the PPP disconnecting locally. Maybe a security situation is dictating the disconnect, if in fact, that is what is happening. If the problem did just start, maybe the update effected your setup.

Thank you for your help. Yes, the problem started after I did my normal morning update before the market opened. However, I finally decided to try to validate my data (I had never done this before but realized that many of the responses given here are to validate) and that seemed to work. I was then able to access the problem account and when I updated again this morning there were no problems. I will keep your advice and try it in case this happens again. Caryl
