I pre-ordered Quicken 2008 Deluxe and received a shipping notice email on the 27th with a link to track the shipment with a DHL tracking number.
Nice and easy, eh? Just click on the link and your browser takes you to DHL to see where your new Quicken is.
Clicked on the link ... DHL says no info.
ok, seen that before on brand new shipments.
No problem.
Next day .. click link ... no info
That night ... click link ... no info
Next Day ... click link ... no info
Now I'm really cussing DHL .. I know many companies have pulled their shipments and will no longer use them because DHL is so bad. I see why ... 3 days after tracking number issued and they have no info!!
So I email Quicken and surprisingly I get an answer in about 5 min .. maybe less.
Guy who writes English like he is in India asks for order number and other info in order to send me a download link so I can get it without waiting for the CD to show up.
Wonderful .. I immediately reply with info requested and wham!! within minutes I get another response with not one but three ( 3 ) ID numbers for downloading!!
So I click on the link provided and am wondering why 3 numbers and it asks for a number .. now I'm wondering which one of the 3 I should use .. so I put the first one in thinking it may pop up and ask for the others ... nope ... one number is all it wanted. So apparenlty I could download two more copies if I chose to.
So I download the file and just save it .. figure I would install next day ( today ). Go to the mailbox and THERE IS A DISK FROM QUICKEN IN THE FREAKING US MAIL!!
Shipping dept said they shipped via DHL but they didn't ... they sent via the post office. How and why they thought they were using DHL is anyones guess and how they got a tracking number generated without using it is too.
Someone smoking some good stuff in the shipping dept.
On the plus side the people who handle email responded very fast and efficiently ( except for giving me more download ID numbers than they should have ).
Installed QD 2008 awhile ago and it went smoothly .. so far I haven't seen one problem. Nice colors. Tags not difficult to understand.
I downloaded latest batch of transactions from my bank and all went just fine.
So far I like it fine, but I've only used it for a short while.
But they need to clean out the deadwood from the shipping dept. Some serious problems there it would seem.
But props to the email responders ... good job on quick response.
I wonder what would happen if I emailed on of those extra download ID numbers to my brother.
