How can I change the sound volume? I've been told that Control Panel>Sounds can have an entry for Quicken, but I don't see it. Can someone tell me how to fix this? TIA

EDIT/PREFERENCES/QUICKEN PROGRAM/SETUP
Actually all you can do with the above is turn the annoying sounds completely off, which is what I always do.
You can also turn the volume down on your speakers, which is what I do, and turn it back up when you have something you want to hear. There should be a volume button on your speaker.
****************************************************** CharliecSorry, but changing the speaker volume is inconvenient. And, having an intro sound serves to notify me if someone else starts up Quicken. The control panel appears to have per-program settings, and that's what I want.

Not on Q06D. It offers me only on/off for sounds. I want everything on but turned down a bit.
How about replacing the offending Quicken sound file(s) with lower volume copies?
You can turn down your sound playback volume then playback and record the Quicken sound file(s), at reduced volume, using Windows Sound Recorder [Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Sound Recorder].
I think that is the best solution. Thanks, Jerry.

In old versions, the sounds (40 of them) are located in Program Files/Quickenw/Sounds. If they are not there in newer versions, search for q*.wav files.
I don't know of any way in Windows to set the playback volume of individual sounds, but you can process offending ones with a sound editor and lower their volume.
