No sound

This happened all of a sudden; QB2009 Pro won't play any sounds. Yes, I've checked that it is set to actually play the sounds and it is, but does not. I can try to change the .wav assignment and TEST the sound, get nothing. None of the QB sounds will play through the control panel interface, however, they play just fine if I manually browse to the .wav files and double-click them (they open and play with Windows Media Player).

This just happened out of the clear blue. Clues, anyone?

Sounds like a blessing to me... :)

Needless to say, I've no clue as to how to help turn the annoyances back on, sorry... :)

Well, that's not quite true...you have used the normal first step for Windows mystery happenings I presume? Reboot and see if it fixes it.

After that, I'd suspect having somehow inadvertently changed a setting or a later update/upgrade/new app has stomped on a driver or somesuch...
