Registration

You could just disable the registration nag:

Hold down CTRL+SHIFT at the same time, click on the Online menu, choose "One Step Update" (while holding down CTRL+SHIFT). You should see a dialog appears which states that "you will no longer be prompted for registration".

I need to register to get the reinstall info if I ever need it no?

What re-inastall info are you referring to? Perhaps q07 is different (I use q06). I've never *had* to register q06 or previous versions, nor have I had to enter any type of installation or serial numbers. QB is another story, but you should be able to use q07 without registrating(unless things have changed). At least, that's been the case here. I think I registered once for q2000, but never since. I've done plenty of reinstalls without issue. In fact, I just reinstalled q06 in vista without registering. Everything works fine.

Why give Intuit info you don't *have* to give them? IMO, they have shown a willingness to fleece their customers, so what might they do with your personal info?

Unless 07 absolutely requires you to register, why do so?

Thanks. When you mentioned QBooks that rang a bell. I have that installed also so I must have confused the two.
