reports

I have Quicken 2005. When in the register and I click on report for the current transaction I do get the report but every time I must customize it to include all accounts. Is there some way to set it up to automatically include all accounts? The same for the time period covered.

No. I think the premise is that reports initiated from a transaction in a register are intended to report only on activity in that register. If you want something diferent, you must take a different approach; one of which you have already employed.

You can also initiate a report on a category for all accounts from the Category List, or from the Report menu.

No. While I don't know why it does not use the "Reports and Graphs" default date range, I know of no place it could be customized beforehand.
