Sluggish behavior w/Q 2013 Premier

EN85905.html which applies to Quicken 2014.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems? I=E2=80=99m working on = archiving some of the older data but am still experimenting with that.

"Dataset"? Are you an MVS programmer/operator, etc.

I used to be, but these days, in the PC world I say "file" like everyone else.

That doesn't sound at all large to me. Mine is 1,714 MB

I run Quicken 2014 on 64-bit Windows 8.1 with 6GB of RAM, and have had no problems, other than one mentioned in the above link: "Your mouse pointer is jerky and stops responding during a One Step Update." But since One Step Update doesn't last very long, I don't worry about it.

Thanks for your response and yes, I once was an MVS programmer !

The problem seemed to happen all of a sudden instead of gradually so maybe the problem is due to something in the data instead of the size of the file.

As I suspected. Almost nobody else would say "dataset."

I don't know what your problem is, but your file is not very large and is very unlikely to be the issue.

Geez! "MVS" has been out of service for probably a decade+!

Let's say "Are you a z/OS programmer/operator" and bring this discussion up to the 2000s!

And I've been retired and haven't used it for a little over *two* decades.

Nevertheless, my guess *was* correct.

Just teasing you.

(Without going into the gory details, I am more than familiar with MVS (especially MVS/ESA System Product Version 4 Release 2), OS/390, and z/OS. But like you, have recently retired, and IBM lost a lot of institutional memory with I did so! But that's Ginni's problem now)

I just bought Quicken Deluxe 2014 to replace my Quicken Deluxe 2011 since my online transaction downloads were going to sunset soon.

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium with 6 GB RAM. I've upgraded Quicken to Release 5.

My first impression was that it runs much more slowly than my older version. I was interested to see your post, which led me to the Intuit website notice about the issue. My problem is the first one listed, namely, "Content doesn't appear right away when opening various windows." It doesn't start too quickly, either, and takes about 10-12 seconds to open my file, which is about 55 MB. I'm hoping they fix the problem soon.

When I upgrade from 2010 to 2013 about 10 months ago, notice dimmediately a MUCH slower response time. Take about 12 seconds to open the file (was probably half that on 2010). One step update takes MUCh longer as well whether I am comparing doing one account or all of them. If I tab to another window during OSU, and come back it may not respond at all (refresh the screen) for 30-60 seconds. Running Vista Home Premium SP2, 4gb of memory, quad core processor. But again the point is the BIG change (degradation) from 2010 to 2013.
