startup annoyances -- quicken 2008 home & business

I just started getting some new behavior when starting Quicken 2008 Home & Business Edition... before the program starts I get an "offer" for some new Intuit product:

Easily create your own website today! Introducing Intuit Websites, from the makers of Quicken 2008. [blah blah blah] [ Try it Free ] [ Continue ]

I have to click on "Continue" every time I launch the program to get into my quicken data.

WTF?!?! Now I'm forced to look at, and click past, ads every time I

*start* quicken, not just when I'm using it? I'm upset by this, to say the least.

Anyone else experiencing this, and/or any suggestions for turning it off? I tried clicking on "Try it Free" once to see if it would go away, but it didn't...

I used to get the same annoying window advising of the availability of a free upgrade. The upgrade concerned a feature of the program I had no interest in, so I initially ignored it hoping the the sales pitch window would disappear. It didn't. Finally, I downloaded and installed the upgrade and that's what it took to make the window disappear.

The only way I've found to get around it is to let Quicken sit open all day. Not the way to make friends and influence people, Intuit!

I have never had this happen to my Q08H&B, just checked again, after the file password, goes directly to "Home" page. I have never selected "Quicken.com" from the menu bar, don't know if doing so allows them to sneak spam ads on your machine.

I've never selected "Quicken.com" either, very annoying. Bob

Now I am sticking my foot in my mouth, after doing an update and later starting Q back up again...I get the offer also. So I went to qw.exe directly and started from there....same annoying window..looking for solution.

I chatted with Intuit tech support, and I'm told that there is no way to get rid of the annoying offer.

Hooray! it's gone. The pop up window now has a check box to "remind me later". Uncheck it and the box does not appear.

I contacted Intuit support chat and was told to just check the box that I didn't want to see this again. I spent 15 minutes repeating over and over that there was no box. The tech repeated over & over that there was a box. I finally convinced him and he did something to make the box appear next time I started Quicken. Checked the box--problem solved.
