This bit me this morning; After an automatic Windows 7 update (my machine was in the 'enter password' mode when I walked downstairs), TurboTax no longer prints. All other apps do. Not good when I wanted to file and print off my payment vouchers.

Hang tight. Between Intuit pushing out a fix tomorrow, Microsoft is also on the case . You can remove KB2656368 (go into programs and features/add remove programs and find the update and remove it.
Andrew? Would you might helping me help others? Can you email susan- at-msmvps.com or sbradcpa-at-pacbell.net so I can put you directly in touch with someone from Microsoft so they can get log files from you? I'd deeply appreciate it.

From Microsoft -- word that they are on the case
'It seems the .Net Framework team has what they need and are tracking down the \ problem. It's unclear how widespread this issue may be. So as a precaution, the \ .Net updates have been down-throttled (they will not be checked or install by default \ on consumer PCs). Throttling has no effect in the managed space, so administrators \ will need to weigh the potential risks to 'forms' (tax and bank form printing) \ software to make a decision for their environments.
I'm not able to speak for the product group (.Net Framework) who is working \ diligently to track this down. But once they have a solution in hand, it's likely \ they'll update KB2656368

Andrew,
FYI - Although this issue does not currently impact me (I filed my returns in February), I did, out of curiosity attempt to print a form from my return and encountered the same problem. Based on this and Bitz's response, I can only assume that this is a universal issue affecting everyone that installed the latest Microsoft updates.

I found a work around on the help site. Use preview to view your return, then print from this screen by clicking the printer icon.

I agree , the problem is resolved with the latest TTax update.

I had subscribed to the info email from the link I shared, and got the email on Saturday that ind. the problem was fixed.
But when I tried to apply the fix, it wouldn't update TT. Another error message about some win engine not being able to update after the needed reboot. There were several go arounds about how to get about this particular new issue (now, TT would even start).
Rather than going through all those hoops, I uninstalled and reinstalled TT, the updates (all of the accumulated ones since the original CD!) were applied, and I am back in business.
Thanks to all who posted their issues.

I had to print off some goofy form the state of Virginia requires (or so I thought) for my daughter when I hit this, and there was no "Save as a PDF" option. Fortunately vitually ever "Print" button is accompanied by a "Preview" button, which generates a scratch PDF and disaplays in your default PDF reader. I just printed from the PDF reader.
I never put much effort into chasing it down but it was clear nothing would print directly for TT no how no way. -- Jim

A blast from the past! Well, as you probably know, they did fix this issue within 3 days....little harm, no foul.

Couldn't resisit! I never figured out if it was a was a genuine TT problem. I don't think I ever did anything after that requiring the direct print function or tested direct print if I did. :)
Waddya know... Direct printing works. . OTOH I could afford to wait 3 days because I had to mail this to my daughter for signature.
Hmmm. Unexplained update to Virginia 5/16. Hope it didn't change anything important.
