Two 'online' questions.

Hello... Two questions relating to Quicken 2005:

First, I downloaded transactions, then decided to start over, so I deleted all the way back to 3/1, however I couldn't download those transactions again from my bank (Washington Mutual). Well, I COULD download them, but Quicken wouldn't re-import them.

Second, is there a auto-import / download for Washington Mutual? Right now it connects to my bank, I enter my username / password, go to download, select date range, etc.

Is trhere a more automated way to do this?

Thanks. :)

Why?

What do you mean, "Quicken wouldn't re-import them"? What exactly did you do and what exactly did Quicken do, or not do.

If Washington Mutual/Quicken believe that you have already downloaded those transactions, it is possible that Quicken will not make them available again. To overcome that, I think you can just "Deactivate" the account for "Transaction Download", then initiate another download. (On the Overview tab for the account, in Account Attributes, is a button Change Online Services, which will display the "Deactivate" button).

In Q2005, there are two methods to download: web-connect, which you used with Washington Mutual; and direct. Direct downloads are much easier, but you can only use the method(s) offered by your financial institution. Washington Mutual only offers web-connect downloads. (See Online > Participating Financial Institutions, and click on Washington Mutual Personal Banking).

This was a import from MS Money, and I thought there were some incorrect / invalid entries.

Went to web connect, logged into Washington Mutuail, selected the date range, (03/01 - 03/12 (this was yesterday) and selected Quicken 2002+ is I believe how it's worded. I had no entries in Quicken from 03/01 on. Nothing was imported.

Well, I did deactivate, but then reactivated. Should I have left it deactivated while I then redownloaded?

Ahh.. Ok, thanks. :)

Well your original post was confusing then: when you "deleted all the way back to 3/1", you really didn't delete anything.

Yes. The very first time you download via web-connect (and in this case, you want Quicken to think that you are downloading for the very first time), the Quicken account must *not* be Activated for Transaction Download.
