Redownload deleted transactions?

Now I could be wrong, but here's the scenario:

I download my transactions from my bank (it shouldn't matter, but it's Chase.)

I've in the past accidentally deleted a transaction, and then notice it's not re-downloaded if I either One Step Update or export transactions from chase to a QFX.

Is there a way around this?

Side / related question, I have an account with Schwab, and it appears a number of transactions are flat oout missing. I guess maybe same question as above, how can I force a resync so to speak?

It's Q2011 R8.

Thanks!

The easiest answers first. To start with, you do need an internet connection that is not interrupted in the middle of a download (although Q should not mark a transaction as downloaded if in fatc it isn't completely downloaded).

Secondly and IMPORTANTLY, if you do suspect something has gone awry, the logical thing is to start over with a backup version of your data from before the date of the suspected erroneous download. That resets the log that tells Q what has been downloaded before, and what should be new.

This may confuse some things, the Chase website has a feature now that shows pending transactions. They seem to befuddle the balances, and they do NOT download with the regular OSU. I do take the info and enter it into Q (verifiying my own records of course). Now it is easier to "match" OSU downloads when those Txs are finally "posted". But pending Txs are sometimes edited/deleted. Yesterday I had a pending TX credited back and reentered because the original was off by 1 cent. Today the original and the credit have disappeared. So beware with that info!!

In older versions of Q the database sometimes got corrupted very easily, so in versions before (I think) 2009, I did a quarterly cleanup by having Q make a fresh copy of the data (File|Fileoperations|copy). That cleaned up and compacted the data. Perhaps you need to do something like that ...

All free advice guaranteed or triple your money refunded ... . YMMV

*bump*.. No one? This can't be that uncommon can it? I'm googling but maybe just not searching the right terms.

The answer is, No. You can not redownload a transaction to the same account in the same file.

You can, as Han suggested, redownload transactions to a file that those transactions have never been downloaded to before ... such as a backup from before the download.

Until now, no.. Thanks to John for letting me know, looks like somehow there was some filtering on this group - not sure why.. :(

I've got cable, so that shouldn't be an issue...

I restored from a backup, and redownloaded. I was hoping there was a simpler way, but looks like that was it.

Thanks :)

Thanks, I didn't see his reply, I think a filter for this group went awry :)

Thanks for letting us know that you found a solution!

I would still save the file under a different name using Quicken's File| file operations. That may simplify the file structures and prevent corruption from creeping in.

Enter it manually and mark it cleared...

If I knew what transaction it were, that would be a no brainer :)
