Taxcut 2008 Tax Table Errors?

Feb 03, 2009 2 Replies

On line 44 of my 1040 in Taxcut 2008 Federal Premium, the program is saying I should pay $9,782 in taxes. However, when I look at the IRS

2008 1040 Instructions tax table, it says I should be paying $9,794 (taxable income is $68,401). I know the difference is small, but I don't want the issue to delay the timing of my refund.

For reference: IRS Tax Table:

(page 76) They have these special cases:

"&cid…&aid#93 However, we do not fall under these cases.

Any help would be appreciated!

Right click on line 44. If the program is using a worksheet to calculate tax that should link you to it. If it's straight Tax Table, it's wrong.

Any qualifying dividends or capital gains?
