That's why I make my BACS transfers via phone banking. It can often be done on a free number or at a free time for calls. Certainly takes me less time than doing a cheque. And I can do it while sitting in a bus or walking in the street.

I don't personally like phone banking but I agree it can be quite quick and easy. One of the issues for me would be the lack of a physical (for me) record of the transaction.

Personally I don't see the benefit.
