Can anyone tell me of a bank or building society that will not charge for depositing a $12 dollar cheque into an account? My own bank want to charge a £7 fee which is greater than the cheque value.

Halifax will not charge for cheques under the equivalent of 30. Citibank will not charge on ALL US Dollar cheques.
