Does anyone know of a British bank that offers interest-paying savings accounts in less common currencies such as Indian Rupees, Chinese Renminbi etc? Barclays offers accounts in these currencies but they pay no credit interest.

HSBC do savings and time-deposit accounts in the local currencies of the countries they operate in. If you bank with them in the UK they would probably help you to open an account with them overseas in the country of the currency you are interested in.
