Does viewing my equifax report harm my credit rating?

I'm trying to repair my credit rating and some while ago bought a credit rating report from Equifax. I know that if someone looks at your report it is recorded in the report and the number of such enquiries can be a bad thing if there are many. I'm hesitant of buying an online updated report as I don't want to be part of the 'damage'. Can I buy as often as I want without such a worry?

No need to worry - any requests from *yourself* are not listed on that part of the data which is passed to potential creditors checking your report.

Creditors and potential creditors don't get to see the records of subject access requests, so it will make no difference to your credit rating.
