Euro Cheque

Anybody know how to go about getting a cheque made out in Euros drawn against a UK bank account. Is the money taken immediately, or is it like a normal cheque, where money comes out when the cheque is banked? I bank with Abbey, Natwest and Barclays.

It'll not be quicker. There's be a fee of a randomly huge amount depending on who you're with. I think Nationwide does foreign checks for free still, but not sure about the ones you bank with.

If the cheque is drawn "on the branch account" the money will come out of your account the day you are given the cheque.
