I sold a item on ebay worth 150+ Postage.
I gave the winner my bank details and when they went to pay the money in they we're told this:
"Been told because you have a cash card account i have to deposit it in a envelope. The cashier is writing it up now for me" They was at the branch in Coventry at 4:48pm (it opens from 9am-5pm)
This has never happend to me before when I sold something on ebay. I've checked my account and sofar, no money has shown up in my account.
Any ideas?
The money has now shown up in my account. Is there any reason why the bank clark would say that?
Of course at 5pm the cashier then probably has to open the envelopes in the machine, count the money and credit the account - mad isn't it?????

Because cardcash accounts in theory have only restricted use of the counter service (the terms and conditions state you will not be able to use the branch counter to make withdrawals of under £300, deposits or carry out routine account enquiries).
In practise, if someone is paying money into your account, most cashiers will quite happily pay it in, but the occasional one will refuse.
