Hi Check out the above links for background story - to sumamrise again

I took out a contract with CPW - halfway in I wanted to cancel - they said they could use my inital deposit of 100 to pay the remainding 6months - great I thought. About 4 months after the contract was meant to expire I noticed they were still takining 17 a month out of my back. I phoned them up and they said as I did not write in at the time and cancel my contract carried on and I was liable for the charges. I told them that I asked on the phone the first time to cancel the contract and they didn't tell me I had to write a letter. I also wrote to the CS and got the same reply. In the meantime I sent a letter cancellign the contract.

When I posted to Usenet last time people told me to call the bank and say CPW had broken the Direct Debit agreement. I did this and Natwest gave me the money back - they said they would take it up with CPW and if CPW argued against it they would give CPW the money back.

Nothing happened. Yesterday I got a bright red letter from 'CCMEDIA' saying I should pay up or a County Court Claim will be issued against me and I could get a CCJ.

What should I do? Should I call up CPW againt and call up this CCMEDIA place.

What happens with a CCC do I have to go to court and explain myself?* I don't fancy getting a CCJ as I will prob need credit to buy a house and stuff in the enar future.

I think it will come down to me being able to prove wether or not the guy actually did tell me to send in a letter on cancellation when I originally called up to cancel the contract. (i did say i wanted to cancel it).

Obviously they know the bank took back the money I originally paid them - should I call up the bank and ask them why the hell they didn't sort it out. Or maybe it will look good in court if Natwest refused them?

Or perhaps I should pay the money and then issue a CCC against CPW to get it back? :)

Try uk.telecom.mobile - someone might have a contact number for high up the chain of command who can resolve this for you. The usual call centre muppets are probably not up to the task.

it seems as tho the debt has been passed on to another company - it also looks like they have added ore money on to it! (a few quid anyway)

Also there are 3 companies involved now - CPW - NATWEST CCMEDIA!
