hello, I have a check from the UK and I need to deposit it or change currency to US dollars.
It's not a huge sum, where is the best place to do this, and what kind of fees can I expect?
Wells fargo charges a $45 collection fee which seems ridiculous. Any other suggestions on where to take my check?

You could take your question to a US finance newgroup where they might have a better idea?
you could mail the cheque to me, when it clears I'll mail you a US$ check. Simple ! A $1charge for postage.

Don't Citibank do an online account that allows this - I think people were pointed in that direction when a similar question was asked here in the past?
