Lloyds Internet Banking problems?

Anyone having problems since Lloyds TSB brought in their new real-time internet banking this month?

Quick summary of problems encountered:

  1. Firefox no longer works

  1. Standing order details and payments lost

  2. Automatic sweep from interest earning account to current account only works one way so:

a) if I transfer money into the current account it automatically transfers back to the interest earning account

b) if I have a pending debit on the current account funds are no longer swept from the interest account.

And now to add insult to injury I am being hit with 35 charges for returned SO not fulfilled.

  1. My "Business Manager" has not fixed any of this in the last week so I've written to Head Office, but I doubt they will understand anything.

What should I do next? Ombudsman?

How do they manage to get it so wrong? And no doubt the managers get some sort of bonus for finishing the project on time and on cost or for some other silly box ticked.

Is this personal banking, or business banking?

It works for me - on both personal and business accounts!

Mine are still all there.

I don't use that feature.

Possibly - but you have to exhaust the in-house complains procedure first.

Without doubt!

I do have one issue at the moment, but it's not really on-line banking per-se. I made an on-line payment to an organisation, a few days ago - using my debit card. After a couple of days, the "available balance" showing on the on-line system was reduced by the appropriate amount, so I expected to see the actual transaction listed the following day. However, no transaction, and the available balance has gone up again - and the organisation assures me that it has been paid! Odd!!

Sounds like the sort of account we could all do with.

I bet the 35 debit gets through OK...

Indeed - unless you're the "someone else" whose account they've probably debited instead of mine!

Hey, it can work both ways. A charity for which I'm treasurer received a credit to its current account a few months ago which I could not explain. On making enquiries it transpired that an error had been made and the money went to us instead of to the charity it was meant to have gone to. So now we'll have to give it back.

Tsk. If only I'd kept quiet. Just goes to confirm the rule occasionally expounded by Judge Judy, that "no good deed goes unpunished". :-(

Business banking

Strange. After 2 weeks of not working it now does for both (I hadn't previously checked the personal account).

It saved a lot of hassle, initially before internet banking. Its value has fallen with low interest rates but was useful as it saved having to mess around with transfers which at least on my account I can't schedule in advance.

I've faxed the 35 charge letter back with a comment that if they apply it as stated on Nov 9th I will refer it to the Ombudsman. Is that fair enough?

Well my ISP who I pay by Standing Order has sent me a "received with thanks" invoice yet no funds have been taken and the Standing order itself (monthly) has disappeared.

Yes I have heard about these banking problems but I am sure that Lloyd will get over them.

Yeah, it's all been sorted a couple of weeks ago at least.

Maybe where you are they have but they haven't fixed mine (i'm the OP).

I have a standing order that they have latched on to the wrong (business) account. I can't get to it to change/delete it and every time a payment is made I get hit with 35 charges because that account doesn't support payments, only transfers to my current account.

My auto sweep has been disabled.

My "customer" manager is not accessible.

Complaints department are overloaded and I keep getting holding letters that "the matter will be dealt with within 4 weeks (or we'll send you another holding letter".

I even called in at the nearest branch and they couldn't get hold of anyone to help.

For anyone who might be interested we've just received a credit to the account which covers all the charges incurred and left a 3 figure sum as compensation for the 3 months of hassles.
