Lloyds TSB new "improved" on-line banking interface for personal customers

Anyone got any comments on this?

My overwhelming comment is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"! - what was wrong with the previous manifestation.

The new interface is *slower*, and transactions are displayed with the most recent at the top - so they no longer match printed bank statements. They claim that customers asked for this (I certainly didn't

- and wasn't even asked!) and that it brings them into line with "online banking standards" whatever *they* are! I think it's a right pain.

When I complained, the response I got suggested that lots of others had complained about the same thing. They stated that they are 'looking' at providing an option to list transactions in chronological order, but there are no committed timescales. What a bunch of *ankers!!

Mercifully their business banking interface (which I also use) is still 'unimproved' - but I don't know how long that will last.

I agree with all this. I would also like to be able to jump to a specific date of a statement instead of having to wade through 'previous' all the time.

my only gripe is that whoever compiled the HTML missed the fact that the front page SHOULD be centre justification and not left. Your account page is centred so why not the front page.

I had a similar gripe with Barclays when they "upgraded" their online banking. They said "customers had asked for it" (ho-ho!).

OTOH, when I found a problem in an opaque corner of the website (third party access, and a broken href on a url), they were fairly understanding about the issue and sounded like they might do something about it).

At least they are "looking at it". Most organisations nowadays will just ignore you or tell you that you are wrong if you suggest any changes. It can't be too difficult for them to present the transactions in a different order.

If they'd had any common sense at all, they'd have built the option in on Day 1 - and that would have been even easier. So now, they're just responding to the flak which they dismally failed to anticipate.

Indeed. Like my bank that removed the option to speak to a human being from their telephone banking service and wondered why they have an unusually high volume of calls to their complaints line.

My views exactly. Being blind I've turned off graphics which seems to have speeded it up a bit. Also, from a blind perspective, they have improved the alt txt labelling on the combo boxes and a couple of other things, but I can't see it was worth the trouble and expense of buggering about with the original site.
